Hubert Czerepok

Dr PHD Associate professor of Painting and New Media Faculty at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, the head of Department of Experimental Film.

His works have been on display in such galleries as Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Poland, Beginning; La Criee Centre d’Art Contemporain in Rennes, France, Devil’s Island; EFA Project Space, The Elizabeth Foundation for The Art, New York, USA, Cultural Transference; Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Regress / Progress; Żak | Branicka Gallery in Berlin, Germany, Lux Aeterna.

He draws, paints, creates objects, installations, video, animation, and found footage. He develops multimedia projects and operates in public space. One of the themes he picks up is the relationship between fiction and historical truth, and it is not facts themselves that the artist is interested in, but the way in which those facts mutate and undergo formal and semantic transformations.

Why do you believe in cross-border collaboration?
Future is no longer as it used to be. We should be prepared for an unknown scenario which is being written. I believe that only cross-border collaboration can equip us with necessary skills needed for facing future.

Your personal driving force?
My personal driving force is curiosity. There’s no such thing as too much curiosity!
